I don't know that I'm too nice or i'm too mean.

I did something that some people might consider as mean. I don't think it's mean at all. And i did something that some people might think that it's normal, but I think i was too nice.

At the end of the day, the too-nice thing pisses me off. I don't understand why I got to be too nice for some one like that. and please don't say that nothing happened, when something did happen.

Hopefully, I will forget this in 2 days. Hopefully, I have learned something from this story. I can be nice with people who are mean to me, but not too nice. and for some people, they never change, although you feel better with them, they are still the old folks that you don't like. It's better to avoid spending time with such folks.

I think we're raised that way. If you're mean and direct, you'll be called "aggressive" in the Thai culture. We're not taught to make direct comments or show true feelings to our peers and our supervisors. Take this for an example. Last December we went to one restaurant (the reincarnation of Anna Cafe) in Bangkok. We knew the food was bad but when the owner came, all my friends just said everything was good and perfect ... nothing wrong. Bangkok. don't like it that way. How can the food improve if we keep lying to them just to make them happy? There's a good way to communicate the message in a friendly manner - I'm sure.

I think I encounter the same problem as you are too. Whenever I want to say something, I'd rather hold it. We're too considerate and way too nice to people. People in western countries seem to be more open to comments as long as these comments are constructive. I am slowly adjusting to this culture. Hope you are too.
